This workshop centers adoptee experience in the US at a time when immigration & race are at the forefront of political agendas & public discourse. As national conversations frame immigration through fear & control, adoptees may experience renewed questions of safety, belonging, & identity. Participants will explore the history of structural racism in America & how racial hierarchies & exclusionary policies have shaped immigration & adoption systems over time, connecting past patterns of inequity to present day narratives that impact adoptees’ sense of self & belonging. 3 CAT 1 CEUs are offered
