Barker’s Programs Guidance, support, and tools for every stage of the adoption journey 10 THE BARKER ADOPTION FOUNDATION 2025 ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT Pregnancy Counseling & Adoption Whether supporting expectant parents considering an adoption plan with free, confidential, and unbiased counseling, or preparing families hoping to adopt domestically or internationally, our approach is child-centered and rooted in transparency and lifelong connection. Barker places children with families through our domestic infant, older child, and international adoption programs. Education & Advocacy Barker equips the entire adoption constellation and the broader community with education, resources, and practical tools to navigate the adoption journey. Through workshops, conferences, CEU-accredited training sessions, and community conversations, Barker promotes ethical adoption practices, lifelong learning, and greater understanding across the adoption community. Project Wait No Longer (PWNL) PWNL helps children and teens in foster care — especially older youth, sibling groups, and children with complex needs — who are legally available for adoption find permanent, loving families. Through the PWNL program, Barker recruits, prepares, and supports adoptive families through specialized training, thoughtful matching, trauma- informed guidance, and ongoing post-placement support, helping families build lasting connections that endure long after adoption.
